HSAs often have benefits in additon to the tax savings and potential for retirement. Typically, the premiums for the HDHP insureance required for a health savings account is significcantly less expensive that the traditional plan. On top of that, roughly 50% of employers contribute to the employee's HSA. I ahve sen employer contributions ranging from 25% to 100% of the deductible being made by the employer. One often overlooked feature of teh HSA is that you can always use your HSA dollars to pay for your own medical expense, your spouse's medical expenses, and any tax dependent's medical expenses (even if the spouse and kids are on a traditional policy.)
