Education Loan Implications

Education is fundamental to our development and as such should be freely offered to all people that wish to learn.

Sadly the above statement is not true in modern society and there is a high associated cost involved with learning and developing our skills to their full potential. The daily costs associated with learning gradually spiral out of control and the only answer is to take out an education loan.

Initially, when someone takes out an education loan to help fund their expenses, the theory suggests that it is an investment in their future rather than a normal loan. The reality for many is quite the opposite as when the time comes to repay the loan the ideal job is always somewhere in the future. Consequently, many people will settle into a job just to afford the loan repayment and therefore their potential has also been given a back seat to their real life needs and requirements.

Education loans are not always the answer as illustrated. However, they can provide some people with the chance of living their dream and become a nightmare for others when the debt repayment catches up with them. If people make proper plans they can avoid the most common pitfalls and remain focussed on obtaining their education qualification, then the ideal job should hopefully become a formality.

Education itself can remain inherently free due to the existence of the internet. The online learning facilities and online degree programmes can cost significant amounts of money, although information itself can be freely obtained from many authority reference sites via the internet.

The general downfall of totally free education is the desire by people to improve their material lifestyle and afford their dreams. Many people view an education loan as the answer, although governments worldwide should recognise and keep strong controls over the lenders for education and career loans. The pitfalls associated with falling into arrears on an education loan, or any other loan, should be made much clearer at the initial stage rather than being left until the crisis point has been reached.
