Reconditioned notebook computer
Submitted by: JasonPatrick
Through the last decade the price of new computers has fallen steadily as more innovative production methods have ensured the worldwide demand for the computer is met. However, with the demand increasing for new computers there is an emerging market for reconditioned computers and one that should not be overlooked.
As each generation of computer is rolled out into production, each generation will also have those seeking to recondition them and resell to people who are lacking the funds to continually have the latest model. An additional reason that computers should be reconditioned is the environmental aspect when there is no longer any 'real need' for last year's model among the corporate world.
Currently, demand for reconditioned computers is on the increase as many former developing countries eagerly make internet access available to their residents. The demand for more mobile and more practical computers has seen an increase in demand for a reconditioned notebook computer.
When the notebook computer was first launched and then superseded with the next generation notebook, practically no demand existed for a reconditioned notebook computer. Due to the expansion of the internet and the speed of change of the technology driving notebooks, there is an increasing demand for professionals in countries where access is poor at best. Professionals in these regions will welcome a reconditioned notebook computer as it brings the cost into a very feasible bracket and helps the environment in the process.
The performance for reconditioned computers may be slightly less than new computers, although for the needs of most people there will be no noticeable difference in overall performance.
It is possible tat reconditioned computers in general may well become the 'must have' accessory for every well off professional - if they grow a conscience and assess the impact of their demands on the environment. If this happens, the poorer nation professionals may well feel the pinch with the cost of reconditioned computers increasing along with demand. However, as each new gadget is released into the marketplace and readily purchased by the affluent without having any real need for it, I feel reconditioned computers will always remain within the grasp of the less affluent.
